The Story of Blush N Curls — Founded by Lavanya Vikram
Every brand has an origin story. Most are written for marketing. This one is the actual reason Blush N Curls exists: a personal frustration that turned into a mission to fundamentally change how Dubai women experience beauty.
The Problem That Started It All
Lavanya Vikram — now Filmfare Most Influential Women 2025, founder of Dubai's first 100% chemical-free salon chain — spent years going to Dubai's most expensive salons and walking out with hair that smelled of ammonia, scalps that itched, and skin that broke out from harsh facial chemicals. Pregnant friends couldn't safely use 90% of services on the menu. Sensitive-scalp friends gave up colouring their hair.
One observation kept coming up: "Why does looking beautiful require chemicals that even pregnant women can't be near?"
The Vision
A salon where the menu is built around what women actually want and what's actually safe:
- 100% chemical-free products — ammonia-free hair colour, formaldehyde-free keratin, paraben-free everything
- Pregnancy-safe and breastfeeding-safe by default

The First Branch — Al Qusais
Opened in 2016 on Damascus Street, Al Qusais. Lavanya was hands-on for the first 6 months — sourcing only organic and chemical-free brands (Organic Way, Schwarzkopf Essensity), training every stylist personally, building a clientele one chair at a time. The reviews started: "first salon I can use while pregnant," "no headache after hair colour," "my daughter and I both come together."
Al Barsha — Premium Western Catchment
Two years later, Al Barsha branch opened to serve the Marina, JLT, TECOM, Media City professionals looking for a real ladies-only salon outside the Marina premium pricing zone. Open daily 10 AM – 10 PM, walk-ins welcome, free parking — conveniences that Marina venues didn't offer.
Mankhool — Bur Dubai Community
The third branch closed the geographical gap. Bur Dubai, Karama, Al Raffa — one of Dubai's most multicultural neighbourhoods. Indian, Pakistani, Filipina, African, Arab clients already traveling to Al Qusais for the chemical-free services. Mankhool branch brought the experience to their doorstep.
